Restraining Orders
You may be eligible to obtain restraining orders to protect you and your children in divorce, parenting plan, modification of parenting plan, non-parental custody, and parentage actions. The three common restraining orders that we represent clients in are immediate emergency restraining orders, temporary restraining order, and restraining orders that are issued at the end of a case that last one year or longer. These orders are obtained when there is an open case. This is different from domestic violence protection orders. If there is a situation where stalking, assault, threats of harm, and other things between people who are related, have a child in common, live together, are or have been in a dating relationship, you will want to consider filing a petition for a domestic violence protection order to protect yourself. We can help you decide which order is right for you.
